Project Control Specialist

Job Summary:

Our client, a Regina-based crown corporation, is in need of an experienced Project Control Specialists to support Senior Project and Program Managers within their Major Capital Projects PMO. This is a multi-year contract opportunity, ending in summer of 2026, with opportunities for extension through to the end of 2028. This group is responsible for delivering major engineering and commercial projects across the province.

Major Responsibilities:

Assist PM in creating project status reports and establish trends:

--Gather and assemble project cost and schedule data as required by the Project Manager - Review output to ensure validity of the data

--Compile all pertinent information into regular reports and circulate to various levels of management.

Assist PM in tracking progress of project

Assist PM in change and risk management

Implement controls on projects with a multitude of considerations including, financial impacts, environmental regulations and compliance requirements, corporate reputation, safety requirements, suitability to business unit requirements, labour, flexibility for future growth and/or alternate usages

Develop and maintain project schedules including baseline schedule development, planning, progress tracking, reporting, change control and analysis of schedule impacts;

Collect, prepare, and analyze data to assist with development and maintenance the project forecast; forecasting and detailed planning of assigned projects shall be the joint responsibility of the project manager and the Project Control Specialist;

Ensure implementation of and compliance with document and project control standards including Corporate and CPMO objectives;

Assist the project manager in preparing project management deliverables, KPIs, and reports consistent with reporting requirements;

Effectively manage projects through its full life cycle using SAP, including Project Systems, Work Management, Plant Maintenance, Materials Management or other modules as necessary to deliver quality projects within scope, on time, and on/under budget;

Integrate engineering and construction supervision staff in the planning and execution of project deliverables;

Maintain effective work relationships with co-workers and staff in other departments and business units

Respond to queries from both internal and external sources

Assist PM in procurement management and material coordination

Assist PM with project meetings

Create and update scheduling data, follow up on progress of activities with responsible department.

Work with the Project Manager to prioritize work to meet deadlines and time constraints.

Practice and promote safe work habits

Perform other related duties, as assigned

Qualifications

University degree / Technical Diploma / Certificate in business administration / project management

Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.

Demonstrated ability in utilizing a variety of computer applications, especially advanced skills in Word / Excel / Power Point / Visio.

Working knowledge of SAP is a must.

Previous project management, and/or Primavera P6 Scheduling experience would be a definite asset.

Minimum 3 years experience in project management support.

Must have a continuing record of career development.

Good command of the English language (both oral and written)

Ability to work primarily on-site in either Regina or Saskatoon. There is some flexibility around scheduling, but full-time remote work is not an option.
