Special Education Specialist

Attendant for Handicapped Students (All employees begin with a temporary status of employment and eligible to apply on regular permanent postings)

The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists in assisting handicapped students in participating in activities related to their schooling. Assist students from moving from one location to another, ensure well-being, hygiene, and safety according to the instructions received in keeping with the individualized education plan.

Required Qualifications:

Hold a diploma of vocational studies in Assistance in Health Care Facilities or a secondary school diploma or an attestation of studies recognized by the competent authority.

One (1) year of pertinent experience in those areas requiring self-discipline, general concepts in psychology and human relations skills

Valid first aid certification minimum of 8 hour course

Salary Scale: $21.89 to $23.35 per hour
