Senior System Administrator

Position: L3 IT System Administrator

Location: Houston, Texas (Hybrid)

Salary: Up to $110,000 + Benefits

Position Overview: We are seeking a talented Level 3 System Administrator to join our dynamic team in Houston, TX. This role will primarily focus on managing and implementing projects while occasionally providing support for help desk tickets.

Responsibilities:

Lead and execute various IT projects, including server deployments, migrations, and infrastructure upgrades.

Provide advanced technical support for escalated help desk tickets when not engaged in projects.

Travel to client sites across Houston for project implementation and support as needed.

Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality solutions and services to clients.

Maintain and optimize M365 applications, including but not limited to: Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Power BI, Power Automate

Design, deploy, and manage servers primarily in Windows environments, with some Linux both physical and virtual machines.

Utilize MSP tools such as ConnectWise for ticketing, documentation, and remote support.

Requirements:

Proficiency in supporting Windows Desktop Operating Systems including Windows 7, 8.1, and 10.

Experience with Windows Server Operating Systems including Windows Server 2008R2, 2012, 2012R2, 2016, and 2019, along with expertise in Active Directory management.

Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to address complex technical issues effectively.

Hands-on experience with Microsoft Exchange versions 2010, 2013, 2016, and 2019, 2022

Strong experience with VMWare and/or Hyper-V virtualization technologies for server virtualization.

Knowledge of LAN/WAN concepts, network structure, and equipment to facilitate efficient networking solutions.

Previous experience with Remote Desktop and Terminal Server configurations and support.

Ability to conduct server and desktop hardware troubleshooting to resolve hardware-related issues promptly.

Understanding of firewalls and network security principles to ensure robust network protection.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a System Administrator or similar role.

Expertise in supporting and optimizing Microsoft 365 applications.

Strong experience with server design, deployment, and administration in Windows environments.

Familiarity with Linux server administration is a plus.

Proficiency in MSP tools such as ConnectWise.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites around Houston.
