Senior Civil Engineer

Spencer-Ogden is partnered with a leading developer, owner, and operator of commercial and utility-scale renewable energy projects, with a focus on solar and wind energy. With over 14GW of projects in their pipeline, they are on a mission to accelerate the adoption of clean, sustainable energy solutions.

The team is looking to expand their engineering team with the addition of a Civil Engineer III. As a Civil Engineer III, you'll be responsible for spearheading the management of analysis, development, and permitting for ground-mounted utility-scale solar farms.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead a team of designers and engineers to conduct thorough site constraint analysis, covering zoning, topography, environmental factors, and soils.

Coordinate and oversee civil, environmental, and survey services provided by consultants, including defining scopes of services, managing contracts, and reviewing invoices.

Ensure project schedules and budgets are effectively managed.

Ensure project compliance with relevant Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements.

Serve as the Engineer-of-Record for soil erosion and sediment control, as well as stormwater plans, details, and calculations for AHJ permit submissions.

Direct Civil Designers and Engineers in the preparation and revision of site/civil plans and calculations.

Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university.

Registered Professional Engineer.

Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant work experience.

Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Experience with PV project design (preferred).

Comfortable with presenting to and interacting with consultants, AHJs, and regulatory agencies.
