Connect Housing Blocks is currently searching for a Manufacturing Designer to join their team in Columbus, Ohio. We are revolutionizing the housing industry, manufacturing multi-story, pre-fabricated modular apartment housing in Columbus, Ohio, by providing high-quality affordable housing. We are looking for a CAD Technician who is a leader, with a strong work ethic, flexible disposition, and desire to learn from experienced manufacturing professionals to help turn the architectural plans into a manufactural product.

Pay: $50,000 – $80,000/year, offer dependent on experience

Schedule:

Monday – Friday

8 AM – 5 PM

Overtime

The right candidate will have:

Associate degree or higher in architecture, engineering, CAD design, or manufacturing curriculum with 2+ years of Building Information Modeling concepts and strategies

Experience preparing detail drawings or high level of detail 3D models for construction prefabrication preferred

Experience programming CNCs, Roll Formers, or other manufacturing equipment

Proficiency with the following preferred: Inventor or Solidworks, Revit Architecture, Revit Structure, Revit MEP

Experience with, or ability to learn the following software: AutoCAD, NavisWorks, Router-CIM (or equivalent CNC programming software), FrameCAD Detailer.

Our CAD Technician will:

Take architectural construction plans prepared by development architectural, structural, and MEP design consultants and develop detailed (LOD 350 or higher) BIM models of the modular products to coordinate manufacturing trade processes and develop bills of material for manufacturing.

Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings for the production line.

Work with key stakeholders to ensure detail models are created per spec and all required data is included.

Collaborate with manufacturing stakeholders to improve designs for manufacturability.

Development of facility process layout changes under the guidance of the manufacturing lead and assist manufacturing team in the development of the manufacturing process.

Provide interface between product BIM models and facility equipment (CNCs, Roll Formers, cutting equipment) to automate manufacturing processes.

Provide innovative ideas for improving equipment and process utilization.

Assist procurement team with material orders.
