Job Summary:
The Safety Coordinator is a key member of our team. This position will be responsible for helping to administer our safety programs at multiple facilities as well as field sites as we create a culture of an injury-free work environment. Key responsibilities will include the following:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Support our “Goal Zero” Safety Culture
Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies including: OSHA and DOT as well as other client specific requirements involving HSE
Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics
Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative measures
Create, maintain, and improve policies and systems related to safety and DOT
Perform regular walk-throughs, inspections, and evaluations of facilities, properties, and job sites
Initiate and organize OHS training of employees
Prepare and present reports on accidents, violations and perform a root cause analysis
Maintain visibility in the facilities and field sites
Support all employees in Safety Related Concerns
Ensure the company maintains compliance with all Federal and State regulations required for commercial vehicles
Responsible for registration, insurance compliance and fleet management for all company vehicles
Maintain internal database with current driver status, license information, and DOT compliance information
Manage training, data management, analysis, and reporting for all DOT concerns
Various tasks as assigned
Competencies:
Proven experience as a Safety Officer
Knowledgeable in OSHA policies and procedures
Proficient in MS Office
OSHA 30 certified, preferably
3 years+ with FMCSA and DOT requirements
Has proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.
Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present and explain health, safety, and DOT topics
1-3 years of experience in safety/DOT, or up to 1 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification.
Education:
Associate’s degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or related field (Bachelor’s preferred)
Travel:
Travel required to job sites (~15-20%)
