Job Description:

Summary:

SIS Online Programs is seeking a qualified and experienced Quantitative Methods Tutor to join our team and support students enrolled in SISG-763 Research Design and Quantitative Methods. This is a part-time, remote position offering flexible hours, with a commitment of approximately five to ten hours per week, with the possibility of increased hours during peak academic periods like midterms and finals.

Essential Functions:

Conduct weekly group tutoring sessions via Zoom for students enrolled in SISG-763 Research Design and Quantitative Methods.

Provide personalized one-on-one tutoring to students requiring additional assistance with quantitative methods and statistical analysis.

Assist students in understanding and applying key quantitative methods and statistical concepts.

Collaborate with students to enhance their comprehension of course material, including dataset compilation, management, and analysis.

Explain and guide students through interpreting and reporting regression analysis results.

Stay updated on the curriculum and assignments for SISG-763.

Adapt tutoring techniques to cater to diverse learning styles and academic backgrounds.

Be available for additional contact hours during high-volume periods like midterms and finals.

Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student progress.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Part-Time.

This position is a temporary position, 5-15 hours per week for the period of 5/6-8/18.

Required Education and Experience:

Strong background in quantitative methods and statistical analysis.

Demonstrated proficiency in using SPSS, particularly for regression analysis.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively explain complex concepts.

Ability to conduct engaging and productive online tutoring sessions via Zoom.

Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Reliability and punctuality in meeting scheduled tutoring sessions.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Master's degree in a related field (e.g., Statistics, Data Science, Social Science Research Methods) is preferred.

Prior experience tutoring students remotely in quantitative methods and statistical software (SPSS) is highly preferred.
