VA Health IT Chief Strategist/Solutions Architect

Responsibilities

OBXtek is recruiting for a highly skilled and experienced Solutions Architect/Strategist to lead the development of IT solutions tailored to the needs of the Veteran's Administration (VA). The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing and implementing innovative solutions aligned with the VA's Information Technology strategy. This role requires expertise in program management, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and software engineering, with a focus on delivering value-added solutions that address specific VA requirements and challenges. Lead the design and implementation of IT solutions for the Veteran's Administration, focusing on program management, enterprise architecture, and cybersecurity.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand VA requirements and develop tailored solutions that address specific needs and challenges.

Conduct thorough analysis of existing VA systems and infrastructure to identify areas for improvement and optimization.

Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to senior management on solution architecture and implementation strategies.

Act as a subject matter expert on VA Information Technology strategy, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices, including the VA's Digital Transformation roadmap.

Mentor and coach junior architects and team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Active Public Trust Clearance

Education/Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree is prefferred.

Strong background in program management, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and software engineering.

Experience with stakeholder engagement and requirements gathering in a government or healthcare setting.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Relevant Certifications such as TOGAF, CISSP, ITILv4 are preferred.

Knowledge of VA Information Technology strategy, priorities such as Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM), Cross-Agency Collaboration, Human-Centered Design, and specific project requirements is highly desirable.

Familiarity with emerging technologies and trends in digital transformation, as outlined in the VA's Digital Transformation strategy
