We are looking for an Early Career Designer to be a part of a dynamic high-performance team supporting store implementation in North America, and across the World. This position supports the Design Leadership Team in various store projects including current and future prototype designs and remodels. In partnership with the Design Manager and senior designers, they will develop schematic design layouts and coordinate the design intent of their assigned projects with internal and external cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

Create schematic designs, including floor plans, storefront elevations, and other studies to support design merchandising and operational requirements while adhering to design guidelines, and life-safety requirements. Guidance for these requirements is provided by the Design Leadership Team, and Architects.

First reviewer of consultant construction documentation and shop drawings. Escalate drawings and your findings to the Design Manager for alignment.

Relay project updates and revisions to the cross-functional project team.

Accountable for verifying adherence and accuracy of design intent and escalating any discrepancies to the manager and project team

Initiate project RFPs per pre-negotiated fee matrix with external vendors.

Assist Manager and Senior Designers with tasks including renderings and presentations.

Actively research design trends and analyze design standards in retail centers to inform projects.

Self-advocate for your development, and work with your manager to identify development opportunities

1 year experience or internship equivalency in design or architecture

Working knowledge of Autocad, Adobe Indesign, and Microsoft suite programs. Knowledge of

Ability to adapt to change, feedback, and diverse communication styles

Proficient at sketching and rendering to communicate ideas.

Demonstrated visual, written, and verbal communication

Knowledge of building/ADA code requirements and constructability

Attention to detail and ability to differentiate between the detail that is or isn’t important

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field
