About the job

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing scheduled quality control inspections of materials, parts, assemblies, systems, equipment, and/or components used in the manufacturing of the Company’s modular structures. The Quality Control Inspector will ensure manufacturing compliance with International Construction codes adopted by each state, the Company’s Quality Manual(s), Construction Specifications, Drawings (Blueprints), Purchase Orders, Contracts, and other related construction documents.

· Conduct scheduled detailed quality inspections of materials, assemblies, sub-assemblies, structural steel and/or light gage steel, and all aspects of the building construction process:

Inspections will provide evidence of compliance with state mandated regulations and the Company’s QA program. Inspections will ensure that the manufacturing process adhered to the approved project specific specifications and approved working documents, record results with photo evidence.

o Accurately document all rejected non-conforming or damaged work.

o Update visuals in accordance with current inspection status.

o Mitigate the risk of warranty call-backs by performing detailed inspections.

· Maintain the control of all state or TPIA approved documents; create and maintain electronic quality control data files for each project.

· Verify serial numbers to project; document required state and third-party seals for each project.

· Record and file all outside testing agency reports (inspection, weld, slump, and other as needed at the completion of the project for Maintenance and Operation Manuals.

· Perform Punchlist Inspections in partnership with Superintendents and Sub-Contractors

· Travel to job sites as necessary for inspections.

· Achieve Quality and Safety Goals for each project.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, CERTIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Construction background preferred; Quality background required.

Minimum High School graduate or equivalent with some College preferred.

Read, comprehend, interpret, analyze and/or apply blueprints and sketches, project schedules, technical specifications, and/or technical manuals, proposals, contracts purchase orders, financial statements, etc.

Able to operate a construction calculator; read a tape measure, an Architects scale, and a square.

Able to read and understand calibrated equipment scales.

Mathematics up to and including plane Geometry (Pythagorean Theorem) to solve problems pertaining to square, construction details, heights, lengths, widths, clearances, tolerances, and other construction functions; able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in inches, feet, and fractions.

Work outside or inside, in all seasons, in a range of temperatures.

PC proficiency in a Windows environment, experience with Smartsheet and Autodesk Build a plus.

Valid driver’s license and able to travel to destinations within the USA and abroad.

Proficient in reading, speaking, and understanding verbal and written English. Second language is a plus.

Standard hours are between 6AM and 2:30 PM, Mon-Fri, overtime and Saturdays as required.
