Valens Software is a developer and distributor of enterprise-level Business Management software, specializing in the Fire and Life Safety industry. We are looking for a full-time System Administration Specialist who lives in the Atlanta area.
The System Administration Specialist manages the hardware and operating system environments for both internal processes and for our customers. They also manage the state of the database environment(s), as well as managing DevOps functions as related to code deployment.
Role & Responsibilities
Maintenance of customer-facing hardware (AWS Administration)
Monitoring both customer and internal server health
Management of system backups (strategy and implementation)
On-demand data migrations/extractions/loads for customers (via Support requests)
Installation/management of Pro2 replication environments
Server-based scripting for system maintenance and DevOps operations
Internal user system access and credentialing
Tasks
Monitor all server health statistics and advise management of issues (preferably prior to those issues affecting customer system performance).
Provide data services to customers and internal Support on demand (via tickets)
Monitor status of database backups/volume snapshots; advise of issues
Assist in development/deployment of DevOps processes as they are implemented
Qualifications
2-3 years of system administration experience
Expert in Linux command line operations and scripting
AWS administration experience
Deep knowledge of database structure/contents and SQL
Fluent in Progress OpenEdge DB Admin/ABL and other tools required for data manipulation a plus

$70,000 - $90,000 + bonus opportunity
