About the role: Marathon is looking for a candidate to fill an equity sales position in the firm’s newly created equities group. As the firm’s equities business grows, this is an opportunity for an individual to learn and advance within Marathon Capital. The individual will work closely with equity research, equity capital markets and marketing. The individual will help with sales strategy and drive the firm’s research roll-out to institutional investors. Developing institutional investor relationships and hosting research analyst, institutional investor and corporate events will be a key.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute the delivery of Marathon’s research and equities product to investors
Development of Marathon’s relationship with institutional investors located throughout the U.S.
Create new interactions and relationships with institutional investors and enhance current relationships with public companies
Communicate equity research team themes and priorities to institutional investors
Create and distribute sales analysis notes summarizing research views and market trends
Organize investor related events for private and public companies
Market ECM transactions to investors
Coordinate institutional investor client onboarding
Work with research on establishing client service tiers, negotiate fees with clients and establish payment processes
Communicate investor feedback to companies
Manage market information from institutional investors and communicate it to the investment bankers
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University, preferably in Business or related field
7+ years of experience in the financial services industry, preferably experience in equity research sales
Active and valid Series 7 and Series 63 Licenses
Highly organized, strong interpersonal skills, strong communication skills
Ability to assist with logistics
Experience covering investors and regions
Experience organizing investor events
Passionate about interacting with corporate clients
Experience creating and distributing market-related commentary to investors
Willingness to coordinate facility, food and beverage, transportation, information technology and other logistics associated with events
Ability to work as a team player and has an excellent work ethic
