Foundry Process Engineer

Summary

To develop, implement, monitor, and maintain efficient manufacturing processes and workflow for manufacturing and auxiliary departments. This position provides metallurgical support to the Foundry TEAM. In a collaborative environment, the Process Engineer will learn the casting process, and associated equipment while identifying and developing control plans for process critical variables. This is an active problem-solving position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned that pertain to this classification.

Be a visible example of safety leadership on the shop floor.

Must develop expertise in all critical processes, equipment, and inputs to develop control plans for the same.

Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools and methodology in the implementation of manufacturing excellence initiatives

Have the ability to facilitate improvement team meetings

Implement Six Sigma projects that focus on reducing process and product variation.

Trains, coaches, and motivates personnel in the understanding and adoption of new principles and techniques

Troubleshoot process issues with an eye toward systematic improvements.

Assist in the root cause analysis of Quality Complaints and the development of action plans to prevent reoccurrence

Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives to eliminate waste of value streams.

Education / Experience:

B.S. In Engineering preferred, or a college degree with 5+ years working in manufacturing

5+ years of experience in manufacturing

Proven track record of problem-solving in a metals manufacturing industry

Six Sigma Black Belt preferred –will provide certification training if needed
