Salary Range: $37,856.00-45,000.00

MAJOR FUNCTIONS:

The Admissions Specialist position is responsible for service provision leading to the effective and appropriate processing of potential inductions to the Odyssey House residential programs. Services provided include advocacy efforts, program interviews, obtaining information, and orientating prospective residents during the Odyssey House admissions process.

The Admissions Specialist is responsible for maintaining compliance with OASAS regulations and assuring that intake, assessment and referral processes operate in accordance with Odyssey House organizational standards for the population assignment designated. She/he is responsible for tracking and monitoring all documentation for the prospective residents referred to the Odyssey House continuum.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure that potential inductions are serviced in a professional and appropriate manner.

Review legal, clinical, medical, psychiatric and other pertinent documents for the purpose of potential program admission; ensuring that all necessary documents are recorded and filed correctly.

Provide adequate and appropriate pre-screen, intake, assessment, and referral services for potential residents.

Obtain medical and psychiatric clearances when required for the admission decision process.

Develop files on new inductions.

Make sure all documents are included in new charts prepared prior to induction.

Transport clients to/from court visits and other appointments as needed.

Initiate, maintain, and update referral source database.

Follow up with all scheduled interviews/inductions.

Process and facilitate movement of PAS 44’s when necessary.

Attend agreed upon external meetings relevant to the criminal justice field and visit Courts to generate referrals for potential inductions to Odyssey House.

Coordinate and facilitate presentations to referral sources on Odyssey House programs and services.

Identify areas of potential growth in which to focus and expand outreach efforts.

Submit reports as required.

Complete other assigned relevant projects and tasks as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION/TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Bachelor’s Level Clinical Degree and one (1) years of experience working in a social service setting preferred.

High School Diploma/GED and two (2) years experience working in a social service setting required.

CASAC or CASAC-T required.

Candidates lacking this credential must be able to obtain this minimum standard during the six (6) month introductory employment probation period.

Proficiency with computer operation (Microsoft Word, Excel, Electronic Health Record and Outlook programs) required.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
