Description:

Responsibilities: Process bi-weekly or monthly payroll for employees accurately and timely, including calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.

Review and verify timesheets, attendance records, and other payroll-related data for completeness and accuracy, resolving discrepancies as needed.

Prepare and reconcile payroll reports, including payroll registers, tax filings, and employee earnings statements, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Process employee benefits, such as health insurance, retirement contributions, and flexible spending accounts, and ensure accurate deduction and remittance of payroll taxes and withholdings.

Assist with year-end payroll processing, including W-2 and 1099 preparation, reconciliations, and reporting, in collaboration with the finance and HR teams.

Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, deductions, and tax withholdings, providing timely and accurate information and assistance.

Maintain payroll records and files in compliance with retention policies and confidentiality standards, ensuring data security and integrity.

Stay informed of changes in payroll laws, regulations, and best practices, and implement updates and enhancements to payroll processes and procedures as needed.

Collaborate with HR, finance, and other departments to resolve payroll-related issues, improve processes, and enhance efficiency and accuracy of payroll operations.

Assist with ad-hoc projects and assignments as assigned by management, contributing to the overall success and effectiveness of the finance team.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required; CPA or payroll certification preferred.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll administration, accounting, or related field, with proficiency in payroll processing software and systems.

Strong knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements, including federal, state, and local tax laws, wage and hour laws, and IRS regulations.

Experience with payroll software and systems, such as ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, or similar, and proficiency in MS Excel and other accounting software.

Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and resolve issues in a timely manner.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees, managers, and external stakeholders.

High degree of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism in handling sensitive payroll information and transactions.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality results and meeting customer needs.
