Our client in Charlottesville is seeking a Payroll Representative to accurately process and resolve issues surrounding payroll.

This position can be Direct Hire or Temp-to-hire.

Responsibilities:-Understands and processes a variety of payroll earnings, deductions, taxes, benefits, union dues and other related deductions.

-Processes payroll according to process sheets designed and written for each assigned company.

-Processes special payouts, such as SOP; JIFF; Relocation; Dividends and Restricted Stock -Completes all documentation of payroll processing, to include scanning of each payroll’s documents and processing sheets.-Prepare balance adjustments for taxes; earnings and benefit deductions.

-Daily Maintenance, to include entry of tax forms for Federal, State & Local.

-Checks co-workers' data entries for accuracy.-Analyzes variances to resolve any existing issues.

-Communicates to business unit representatives as needed to keep them apprised of pertinent information, such as payroll processing deadlines, balancing of payrolls, and follow-up on issues.

-Keys payroll related data as applicable to process and meet pay schedules.

-Processes off-cycle checks as necessary.

-Documents W-2(C) information as requested by the business unit.

-Support audits by pulling records and sourcing documents as necessary.

-Organizes quarterly CSAT calls with Business Unit.

-Research employee pay problems as reported.

-Works closely with Supervisors on payroll process improvement projects.

Qualifications:-Vaccinated against COVID-19.-High school graduate or equivalent.

-One to three years of basic payroll processing experience.

-Detail oriented with excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills.

-Strong customer service skills.

-Ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines.

-PeopleSoft or other HRIS experience.

-Basic Microsoft office experience, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel.-Secondary course work in Accounting, Business or other related field preferred.

-Fundamentals of Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred.
