Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Play a key role in the Accounting Department and work closely with the Director of Finance, Executive and Senior Leadership to implement internal controls and process efficiency across all departments.
Supervise the day-to-day operations of AP/AR/Job Cost/ General Ledger and Payroll
Oversee month-end closing process including module tie outs
Perform monthly Balance Sheet and key income statement accounts reconciliations
Spearhead budget preparation and revenue forecasting
Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements for bonding company and other external stakeholders.
Perform post implementation ERP system integrity audit
Understand construction payroll including prevailing wage fringe calculation
Review Work in Progress (WIP) Schedule
Develop audit schedule for year-end, 401k plan and Workers' Compensation risk assessment
Assist in documenting accounting internal controls, policies and procedures
Perform financial analysis on overall performance of the jobs, indirect and overhead costs and other adhoc analysis as required
Assist in Phase 2 system implementation of the new ERP system on materials and purchasing functions
Provide technical accounting guidance to staff as needed
Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
Secondary Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintain proper filing and documentation systems to provide clear audit trails
Train employees as needed
May perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or other member of the Leadership Team
Required Qualifications:
Degree in Accounting is a must, MBA or CPA Certification is a plus
At least 7 years' experience in full accounting cycle. Construction experience is highly desirable
With at least 3 years in management role
Familiarity with Percentage of Completion Revenue Recognition
Full understanding of GAAP and other related accounting standards
With advanced Excel skills such as VLOOKUPS, Pivot table and other formulas
Familiarity with Accounting software such as Sage, SAP, Vista Viewpoint, etc.
Attention to details is required
With good oral and written communication skills
Ability to protect confidential and sensitive information
Maintain and abide by all safety requirements
Ability to work overtime as needed
Ability to travel across company's locations as needed.
Physical Demands
Sedentary
Lifting up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers, and files. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.Work Environment

General office environment infrequently exposed to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.)
