Company Overview

Blackstone Europe Fund Management S.à r.l. (BEFM) is a private limited liability company (société à responsibilité limitée) notably subject to the Law of 10 August 1915 on commercial companies, as amended from time to time and to the AIFM Law. BEFM is authorized by the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) as (i) a management company under Article 101(2) (Chapter 15) of the Law of 17 December 2010 on undertakings for collective investment, as amended (the UCI Law) and (ii) an alternative investment fund manager in accordance with the Law of 12 July 2013 on alternative investment fund managers, as amended (the AIFM Law).

BEFM manages UCITS and alternative investment funds (AIFs) in a variety of asset classes including private equity, real estate, credit and hedge fund solutions. BEFM is also authorized to manage separately managed accounts (SMAs) with a combination of these asset classes.

Job Responsibilities

In this role, the Off Cycle Intern will be an integral member of BEFM Risk Management in Luxembourg and will have the opportunity to participate in an array of projects and will be expected to participate in all the activities if the team as described below:

Assist in the monitoring, assessment, and mitigation of risks that could negatively affect BEFM and its managed structures by:

Aiding in the maintenance of a comprehensive risk management framework for managed structures and BEFM, aligning with regulatory standards.

Helping implement risk management strategies, policies, systems, and governance protocols.

Contributing to the update the risk profiles for the enterprise and its managed structures.

Supporting due diligence for alternative investments.

Assist in ensuring compliance with investment restrictions, collaborating across departments to manage risks and address potential breaches, and aiding in the development of mitigation and corrective actions.

Contribute to maintaining a strong control environment for risk management activities, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Assist in the preparation and delivery of risk management reports.

Participate in initiatives aimed at improving processes, supporting the introduction of new investment structures, the integration of delegates, and engaging in Blackstone Technology's operational and development goals.

Qualifications & Skills

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who work well in a team, are highly motivated, with a sound judgment and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.

Master’s Degree in Finance, Economics or similar discipline (CFA, CAIA, FRM being considered as an asset).

Experience within the Financial Services industry, including role(s) in Investment Management, Advisory/Audit, Banking or related fields is desirable, but not necessary.

Strong knowledge and technical skills in financial analysis and/or risk management.

Must be skilled in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, with the capability to create innovative, and comprehensive reports. Demonstrates a keen interest in leveraging technology and enhancing abilities on IT platforms, such as Tableau and Sigma.

Fluent in English, both written and oral.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a proven track record of successfully engaging and collaborating in an international environment.

A collaborative team player with a resourceful mindset and a focus on efficiency.

Ability to adapt in a fast pace and dynamic environment. Ability to multi-task and execute a wide range of assignments, strong time management skills, and attention to detail.
