Blending Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY

The Blending Supervisor is responsible for coordinating all aspects related to blending, such as planning, equipment, blend quality, accurate completion of paperwork, sanitation of the blender and blending area, meeting sample analysis requirements, assigning tasks to team members, and creating daily work schedules based on work order analysis. They are also responsible for resolving emergencies, complex problems, and workflow stoppages, as well as collaborating with all employees to identify areas for improvement across the plant. The Blending Supervisor should support, build, and promote a positive and collaborative culture across all teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Supervises the assigned workers of the blending operations; trains and provides technical assistance and instruction to blending team members regarding applicable quality assurance procedures and blending processes; resolves complaints and/or problems.

· Oversees and supervises day to day blending operation activities.

· Determines work schedules to increase safety and efficiency.

· Supervise the control room which includes but is not limited to; making efficient silo transfers to accommodate silo space, placing release(s) of olive oil on a scheduled manner, works with production schedule to meet customer orders, works closely with Quality Control to create efficient blends.

· Ensures equipment is in good working condition.

· Knowledge of blending equipment including silos, hoses, pumps, and pressure gauges.

· Effectively works and communicates with other managers/supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.

· Ensures product meets established specifications.

· Ensures compliance with GMP guidelines and ensuring, by active and consistent monitoring, that department team members follow all GMPs and SOPs.

· Complete daily processing paperwork accurately and in a timely manner. Report metrics for run rates, yields and losses.

· Able to participate in audits relating to blending department assistance to the production supervisor.

· Follow GMP, PPE, and company safety policies in performance of job duties.

· Ensure the team’s compliance with the Occupational, Health and Safety regulations.

· Maintain a clean and safe workplace to prevent accidents and health hazards.

· All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

· 2 or more years in Food & Beverage Manufacturing Supervisory experience preferred.

· Technical knowledge of blending process, equipment, sanitation, and maintenance preferred.

· High school diploma or GED.

· High attention to detail.

· Understanding of production goals.

· Sense of urgency to complete tasks.

· Team player.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

· Physical demands: While performing duties of job, incumbent is occasionally required to stand for full shift; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
