AJ Asphalt & Concrete is a mid-size asphalt and concrete construction company that has served central Ohio since 1983. Many of our employees have enjoyed working for us for 5, 10, even 15 years.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Operations Administrator to join our Concrete Division. As the Operations Administrator, you will be responsible for coordinating services and duties between the front office and the field production team. You will collaborate closely with the estimators/project managers and the production superintendents to align project work scheduling to meet client needs and help ensure the successful completion of projects within project budgets and schedules. This role requires excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of construction practices in the concrete industry.

Responsibilities:

Plan and execute logistical aspects of operations for maintaining and coordinating production schedules for production crews and work closely with the front office and field to meet the client’s needs.

Address operational challenges, and discrepancies, and implement solutions to maintain seamless operations.

Facilitate communication with the Office and field to ensure alignment and success on all projects.

Function as the Procore System coordinator to ensure all documents are being entered daily on all projects to ensure accuracy and accessibility.

Recognize opportunities for process enhancement and execute strategies to optimize operational workflows to ensure a smooth workflow and efficient process.

Schedule and coordinate weekly production meetings with the crew and the office to properly align projects to achieve project success.

Monitor operational performance metrics, analyze data, and provide insights for continuous improvement.

Support Human Resources for maintaining safety procedures and compliance for all Concrete Division projects.

Work with the shop mechanic on recording maintenance, destruction, and inventory of equipment.

Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED.

Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, business administration, or a related field preferred.

2+ years of experience as an operations administrator or in a similar position.

Strong organizational and administrative skills.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Time management, organizational and multitasking skills necessary to work in a challenging environment, managing various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy to achieve daily assignments and goals.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management software (Procore).

Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to multitask.
