Key Responsibilities:

Visiting working shovel pits, providing interpretations at morning grade control meetings.

Collaborate closely with mining and milling teams to optimize the Mine-to-Mill process, enhancing overall efficiency and resource recovery.

Conduct geologic mapping and analysis to identify opportunities for ore blending and improved fragmentation, minimizing waste and maximizing mill throughput and optimized leaching efficiency.

Conduct geologic mapping of highwalls and shovel advances, focusing on lithology, alteration, and structure.

Regularly update the 3D production model with mapping data.

Provide geological input for blast design optimization, aligning with both milling and leaching requirements.

Creating and updating weekly and monthly reports.

Perform Quality Assurance Quality Control reporting for sampling and laboratories.

Collaborate closely with Mine Planning, Operations, Processing, Metallurgists, and other teams, offering geologic interpretations, and Best Practice advice.

Responsible for executing, supporting, and enforcing the Company's Environmental, Health and Safety program as required by OIS policy, directives, and principles.

Additional Duties:

Contribute to geological 3D modeling and database tasks to support accurate resource estimation and mine planning.

Implement best practices for ore control, ensuring accurate sampling, data analysis, and reporting to support Mine-to-Mill initiatives and leaching activities.

Provide technical and logistical support for drilling campaigns.

Supervise and collaborate with outside contractors providing services to the department.

Contribute to acQuire database administration.

Assist with geotechnical and hydrogeological tasks and interpretations.

Ability to learn and use modern industry standard software suites such as Hexagon MinePlan, Leapfrog Geo, AcQuire Suite.

Required Qualifications:

Knowledge of Porphyry Copper deposits

Bachelor's degree in Geology or related field; Master's degree in Economic Geology is preferred.

Minimum 3 years of experience in the mining industry with production geology experience.
