Electrical Design Engineer

Education:

Electrical Engineer degree preferred, or qualifying degrees include Civil, Mechanical, Architecture, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Building Construction or similar.

Experience.

Recent grad - 3 years experience (construction, electrical contracting industry a plus)

Qualifications and Skills:

Basic understanding of electrical principles.

Knowledge and use of MS Windows, Office 365 + Team

JavaScript (visual Basic understanding)

Job description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our engineering department specializing in electrical design for mission critical projects, commercial buildings, and industrial facilities.

Ideal candidate will understand basic electrical principles, V=IR, P-I^2R, etc. and have excellent verbal and written communications skills. Candidate should be able to work well with a team of engineers and independently on large and small commercial/industrial electrical construction projects. Knowledge of JavaScript. Visual basic and dynamo programming is a plus but not required.

Model electrical systems and perform short circuit and coordination studies in SKM Power tools

Model electrical content in 3D in Revit and plan out electrical systems based on the National Electrical Code.

Write basic macros in excel and JavaScript to help increase productivity of repetitive tasks.

Prepare reports for distribution to the clients.

Print large scale drawings for project managers and field support.

Detail oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.
