CTL Engineering is hiring an Accounts Payable Supervisor!

CTL Engineering is an award winning, full service consulting engineering firm with (15) locations across OH, IN, WV, KY, NC, SC, and VA with a rich history over our (97) years in business. We provide civil/site design and land surveying, environmental, geotechnical, construction administration & inspection, accident reconstruction, roofing/building envelope, A/V system design, troubleshooting & installation, transportation design (bridge/roadway), and specialized testing services to the construction industry.

We are looking for a skilled Accounts Payable Supervisor who will play a key role in overseeing daily CTL accounting team functions (AP Department) – managing day to day activities of the AP Team, setting goals and holding others accountable to their deadlines. You’ll leverage your expertise in: managing the full cycle accounts payable processes; managing purchase order workflow processes, including payment approvals; vendor management; and implementing positive pay and automated ACH processes.

Highlights:

The role will be based out of our current office in Worthington – near I-270 – but we’ll be moving in early 2025 to our new office location in New Albany.

Responsibilities:

Meets accounting operational standards by contributing financial information to requested company plans; implementing process, policies, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying system improvements and ensuring timely payments.

Meets accounting financial standards by providing requested budget information; monitoring expenditures; completing audits, identifying processes to support needs of the business, identifying variances; and implementing corrective actions, if needed, after finding issues.

Provides superior customer service in advising vendors, internal department heads, leaders and others on all matters related to disbursements, invoices, and payment requests.

Manages the full cycle accounts payable process.

Manages purchase order workflow processes, including; payment approval, vendor management, and implementing positive pay and automated ACH process.

Ensures disbursements are proper, made timely and properly authorized.

Approves cash disbursements by verifying check amounts against invoices.

Manages employee reimbursement process.

Maintains cash flow by monitoring balances and requirements.

Assists with month-end accruals.

Supports audits by providing information and answers to auditors.

Maintains financial security by adhering to internal controls.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of general ledgers.

Knowledge of purchase order process, vendor management, ACH process.

Interpersonal and conflict management skills to build and maintain relationships.

Proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook, with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Analytical skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Strong ability to be organized and to lead a small team.

Ability to maintain confidential information.

Ability to solve problems and recommend solutions.

Ability to manage vendor deadlines.

Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and demonstrate ability to build relationships and partner with team members and cross functional team members.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent education and experience.

5+ years of experience in Accounting/Finance/Bookkeeping or Accounts Payable field.

Proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
