My client is looking for a Grant Accountant to join their team, within the non-profit industry, based in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate for the Grant Accountant role will have non-profit experience and be responsible for the handling of federal grants, maintaining the general ledger accounts, reconciling accounts payable and accounts receivable, assisting with month end close, posting journal entries and assisting with other ad hoc projects. Daily responsibilities of the Grant Accountant include:

· Handling of federal grants.

· Perform month-end close.

· General ledger maintenance.

· Reconcile AP and AR accounts.

· Prepare financial statements.

· Research and maintaining compliance US GAAP.

The ideal Grant Accountant we seek must have the following qualifications for consideration:

· 2+ years of accounting experience.

· Understanding of US GAAP.

· Non-profit experience, a plus.

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
