SUMMARY OF POSITION
To maintain state of the art food processing, manufacturing, packaging, and material handling controls & automation systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Learn and optimize company standards for electrical & controls systems, procedures, safety, programming, & employee training.
Work closely with engineering & production to optimize controls & HMI interfaces.
Field troubleshooting and repairs/replacements of control devices.
Perform scheduled electrical PM’s on processing equipment and control panels.
Actively participate in human, machine, & food safety countermeasures.
Assist with or lead problem solving activities & discussion with production, management, & fellow engineers.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Language skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Mathematical skills
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, along with computing ratios, and percentages. Knowledge of statistics is desirable.
Reasoning ability
Must be able to apply general requirements into action as it applies to the plant. Should be able to work in a team environment to accomplish goals and complete projects..
Complex Problem Solving — Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Computer skills
Able to read PLC Programming using RSLogix5000
Fundamental understanding of network routers, switches, IP addressing & subnetting

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate of Science in related field(s), including but not limited to: Electrical, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, and Industrial Technology and/or 1-2 years’ in related experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and condensed work areas. The employee is also exposed to dust particles.
The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The dust levels in the work environment are usually high. (Safety protection will be provided)
The employee may spend 50% or more of their work hours on the plant floor
Pay Range: $70,000 - $110,000, and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills& experience.
