This position is a Union Position. Shift Work - 3 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Monday - Friday
ICMS LLC, an innovative Professional and Technical services provider to the Federal Government, is seeking a talented and experienced Journeyman Electrician to support a secure, federal facility. We’re searching for an experienced individual who can provide high-quality service, attention to detail, and understands the worth of exceptional customer service. The Journeyman Electrician will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of all building equipment and systems. In tandem with the Chief Engineer, the candidate will be responsible for assigning work and scheduling staff. In-depth knowledge of emergency power systems and data center layouts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Direct, coordinate and exercise functional responsibility for planning, organizing, and controlling the integration and completion of building systems
Monitors and supervises the ongoing work by third party contractors and in-house personnel to ensure optimal performance
Works with the Chief Engineer or PM in overseeing the complete operations of the building
Operates and maintains the central plant areas and any energy management system
Maintains building support, safety, and security of equipment by hosting staff meetings
Responds to customer requests in a helpful and consultative manner
Establishes and maintains inventories of tools, supplies, and equipment for daily maintenance
Responsible for assisting the Operator with daily operations procedures in the central plant
Assist in maintaining and repairing all machinery as assigned
Responsible for assisting the Operators with maintaining all safety equipment at the plant
As assigned, perform preventive maintenance work orders
Responsible for making after-hours rounds and mechanical equipment room to assess the functionality of the equipment and work that has been completed
Assist the Operators in maintaining the clean and safe appearance of the central plant
Responsible for after-hours emergencies of HVAC, fire alarm, electrical and plumbing issues
Prepare incident summaries on emergencies
Complies with all applicable Company policies regarding health, safety, and environmental compliance and information protection
Requirements:
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Virginia 3rd Class Engineer License
5+ year experience in performing maintenance and operations for a building larger than 300,000 square feet
Knowledge of HVAC installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance
Ability to perform preventive maintenance according to published guidelines
Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures and the confidence to suggest additional safety procedures.
Working knowledge of HVAC and associated systems employing computer/software-based monitoring and control devices
Knowledge of mechanical equipment, electrical, plumbing, utilities, distribution systems, and controls, including maintenance and troubleshooting
Ability to repair building systems that are controlled by a central Energy Management Control System (EMCS)
Must be able to use hand and power tools applicable to the trade
Must be able at times to work independently with little or no supervision.
Shifts Available are : Monday-Friday 3 p.m. - 11 p.m.
RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma
Ability to pass an extensive background analysis
Experience working in a government facility
Ability to read blueprint diagrams
Previous experience in developing and managing to a budget
Ability to use computer software to develop and track the progress of tasks; specifically, Excel, Word, email, and PowerPoint
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stoop, reach, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, communicate, and use repetitive motions.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee may frequently lift and or move 50 pounds of materials.
The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from multiple people and interact with the public and other staff.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
May be required to work overtime, other shifts, or on-call as needed or scheduled
Responsible for 24/7, weekends, and holiday support
Emergency overtime may be required
Generally, works indoors and outdoors on elevated structures and in cramped areas.
