Mainframe DB2 System Administrator

Do you see the bigger picture when it comes to z/OS database management? We're seeking a forward-thinking DB2 System Administrator to join our team.

Your job in a nutshell:

The successful candidate must have experience in DB2 for z/OS database management and administration.

What will you be doing:

Install, configure and upgrade DB2 database software;

Assist with testing, implementation and installation of new/improved systems, as well as product upgrades;

Build policies, standards and procedures for the Database system support and usage;

Supervise and maintain database systems to ensure efficient performance and availability;

Perform routine backups and recovery procedures;

Conduct regular performance analysis and tuning to optimize query performance;

Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks;

Collaborate with application developers to craft and implement efficient database schemas;

Maintain data dictionaries and documentation;

Implement and maintain database high availability solutions (e.g., clustering, replication).

Requirements:

Professional Skills:

Experience as a DB2 for z/OS System Programmer or in a similar role;

Understanding of DB2 for z/OS database management and administration, DB2 Recovery scenarios;

Familiarity with database security standard processes.

Nice to have:

IBM DB2 certification.

Behavioral Skills:

Excellent problem-solving skills;

Proficient English – level B2 or above;

Excellent and effective communication skills with management;

Ability to work effectively in diverse, multi-national and virtual environments.
