Responsibilities

The Senior Internal Auditor will plan and oversee the day-to-day execution of audits, provide guidance, direction and feedback to the internal auditors, and keep management and the business informed of audit results and status:

Ensure audit activities are executed in accordance with defined audit programs to enable achievement of desired objectives and delivery of quality results

Provide daily supervision and guidance and perform initial review of work performed by internal audit staff, ensuring work performed is in accordance with departmental standards

Actively support management by providing regular updates on audit status, issues and concerns

Deliver and discuss audit issues and recommended actions to the business in a professional manner without compromising integrity

Create draft audit report for management’s review and lead and mentor team members

Required Experience & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, Advanced degree or MBA is a plus

Experience: 3+ years of audit experience in either public or private environment, CPA or CIA desired

Strong understanding of audit concepts and technical accounting guidelines

Able to asses control designs and analyze risks

Critical Skills & Attributes

Effective as both an individual contributor, team player and lead

Ability to manage multiple projects while delivering quality results on time

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Proficiency in Excel, Access or automated audit software
