Job Description
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Track Workers’ Compensation Claims, along with each Claimant’s C-2 Form, and Report Safety Department for investigation and OSHA log input. Create file/folder for WC Claimant and place in appropriate category file.
Maintain Driver’s License & DMV “LENS” Notification Program; conduct periodic driver license updates and monitor driver license status changes in LENS; maintain Corporate Driver License Database; input and deletion of drivers in “LENS” System
Coordinate Property Damage, Fire Damage, Flood Damage and Motor Vehicle Damage claims; review “Damage to Riverbay Property Form” and any photos received from respective department head to set up file and create a Working Group List of contacts involved in the remediation of damage; contact Claimant and their insurance company along with appropriate Riverbay staff to arrange mutually convenient time to review damage and determine responsibility. Obtain signed Indemnification Agreement from Claimant prior to tour of damage.
Coordinate repairs of damaged units and other units affected by incidents with Restoration, Flooring, Painting & Plastering, Buildings & Grounds and Maintenance to make sure repair dates are synchronized and on time. Obtain insurance information and seek subrogation if Claimant is determined to be negligent.
Follow up with New York City Fire Department (NYFD) to obtain Fire Marshall & Incident reports, as needed.
Assist with organization of and preparation for periodic Accident Review Committee hearings
Assist with all insurance policy submission packages. Meet with various brokers and underwriters to discuss upcoming renewals.
Assist with preparation of two-year Insurance budget.
Performance of other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
Educational Requirements:
HS diploma or equivalent required. (Degree is a plus)
Valid NY, NJ, CT or PA Driver’s license is required
Work Experience and Minimum Requirements:
Two to four (2 – 4) years of Workers’ Compensation claims experience
Training and experience equivalent to 3 years of property and third party (General Liability) claims
Working knowledge in Microsoft Office that includes MS Word, Excel, & Outlook
Candidate should have a working knowledge of Adobe products
Knowledge of insurance policy preparation for renewals is a plus
Familiarity with the Yardi program is a plus
Candidate must be detail oriented
Must possess effective written/oral communication and interpersonal skills
Bilingual is a plus
Must be able to work flexible hours, as needed
Testing:
Drug screening to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Physical Requirements:
Persons performing service in this position classification may routinely exert up to 25 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. This type of work will involve regular walking or standing for extended periods of time. It may involve stooping or bending. Handling and working with various materials and objects are important aspects of this job.
