An aerospace client is looking for a Vibration and Environmental Testing Engineer who will support the Structures Test Organization in the execution of Vibration and Environmental Testing as well as the Development of Test Plans and Test Procedures.

Location: Redondo Beach, CA 90278 (On-site)

Position: Vibration and Environmental Testing Engineer

Pay Rate: $44.58/hr. on W2

Duration: 18 months or longer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will work closely with Dynamicist, Environmental Lead, and Program IPT Lead. The candidate will be responsible for identifying potential risks during all phases of Test Build-Up and testing. The selected candidate will also work closely with the Instrumentation Group, Safety and Quality.

Responsible Test Engineer (RTE) in charge of design of test fixtures for vibration and environmental tests;

primarily dynamic and climatic testing.

Oversee the day-to-day operations to take multiple test fixtures from concept to manufacturing.

Plan and design test fixture, complete modal analysis, generate 3D models and 2D drawings utilizing

standard GD&T practices for manufacturing. Drawings include manufacturing drawings of designed fixture

components, layout assembly drawings, and other drawing schematics.

Supervise and assist with vibration test fixture assembly with and without test articles.

Responsible Design Engineer (RDE) responsible for designing vibration fixtures for complex electro

mechanical subassemblies, ensuring design meets all technical requirements outlined by a TRD.

Development test plans and procedures ensuring test requirements and limitations are met, liaison with

Instrumentation Engineers, Test Engineers, and other stakeholders to plan and execute vibration and

environmental test and create detailed test reports.

Maintain project schedule and provide appropriate test status reporting.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

This requisition may be filled at either a Principal or a Sr. Principal level.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Test Engineer:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Science, Technical, Engineering or Math (STEM)

A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience with a BS Degree or 3 years of engineering experience with an MS degree in the STEM Field

Basic Qualifications for Sr Principal Test Engineer:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Science, Technical, Engineering or Math (STEM)

A minimum of 9 years of engineering experience with a BS Degree or 7 years of engineering experience with an MS degree in the STEM Field

Both Principal and Sr Principal Test Engineer:

Must be a US Citizen.

Highly experienced with vibration fixture design using CAD software NX and modal analysis.

Demonstrated experience generating detailed 2D drawings following GD&T Y14.5 requirements, including tolerance stack up analysis.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Environmental (Dynamics and Climatic) test planning experience

Previous experience performing vibration and environmental testing, including instrumentation such as accelerometers.
