Salary: $15 - $17/hour

Avocet Aviation Services, an FAA Certified Repair Station located in Central Florida, is currently accepting applicants for our Registered Apprenticeship Program. Our apprenticeship program is designed to provide hands-on experience and mentorship to individuals eager to jumpstart their careers in Aviation Maintenance.

As an apprentice, you will work closely with experienced aircraft mechanics and other professionals to gain practical skills and knowledge. This is a unique opportunity to learn from industry leaders and contribute to real projects while developing your expertise in Aviation Maintenance. At the conclusion of our 30-month program, you will be eligible to test for your Airframe and Powerplant certifications.

Applicants must possess the following minimum qualifications, which are directly job related:

Must have High School Diploma or High School Equivalency

Must be 18+ Years of Age

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at full professional proficiency

Must possess a current and valid driver's license (the license must remain current during the entire term of apprenticeship)

Must have reliable transportation

Must live in the State of Florida

Must pass a pre-employment drug test; and a background check and security threat assessment resulting in issuance of a badge by the Sanford Airport Authority

Must be able to perform essential functions of the job (see below)

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Depth perception, and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk; sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
