Brown Safety Consulting has an opportunity to participate on the Penn Access project in The Bronx, NY and will be hiring a safety coordinator to support the overall safety efforts of the joint venture team. This is a 2-3 year opportunity and we need a safety professional that can fulfill the duties listed below and meet the qualifications for this position. All candidates must be approved by the joint venture team prior to receiving an official offer. New York City based candidates preferred!

Safety Coordinator Responsibilities:

1. Report to the Safety Manager for daily Work activities.

2. Perform safety checks.

3. Document any safety findings and corrective actions taken.

4. Complete Daily Safety Reports.

5. Document any near misses or incidents.

6. Communicate with all designated Competent Persons (see Paragraph 3.04 herein) before, during, and after completion of their work shifts.

C. Safety Coordinator Qualifications. The Safety Coordinators must meet all qualifications set forth below:

1. LIRR, MNR Track Safety trained;

2. Amtrak and CSXT Track Safety trained;

3. A minimum of ninety (90) days prior ROW experience including flagging and diversions of service.

4. Successful completion of the 40-hour NYC-Department of Buildings Site Safety Manager Course and license.

5. Successful completion of the 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety & Health (29 CFR 1926) Course.

6. Active member of American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP).

7. Minimum two (2) years of safety or safety-related experience.

8. Familiarity with the type of work being performed.

9. Competent to instruct on-site personnel.

10. Able to read, write, and speak English fluently.

11. Possess and maintain a current New York State Department of Labor Asbestos Inspectors License.

12. Possess and maintain a current C-3/C-5 Supervisor / Competent Person Training for De-leading of Industrial Structures Certificate.

D. Trainings. The Safety Coordinators shall receive a minimum of six (6) hours of relevant safety training courses on a yearly basis for the duration of the Contract. The Design-Builder shall make training record available to the Project CEO upon request.

E. The Safety Coordinators shall exclusively be responsible for safety matters related to the Work Site for which they are appointed and shall not have any other responsibilities associated with this Contract.
