Summary:

Responsible for safety, employee relations/employee management, customer performance, plant operations and maintenance. Establish plant policies and procedures. Responsible for plant production goals. Create and maintain well trained and motivated staff.

General Duties and Responsibilities

1. Foster a service driven culture

2. Interact with Sales Team and Customers

3. Manager Customer relationships

4. Manage P&L and budgets

5. Create accountability throughout the plant by setting specific expectations and reinforcing both positive and negative performance

6. Develop, manage and supervise staff

7. Utilize the skills and abilities of staff

8. Use team problem solving approach

9. Manage ordering practices for all materials (i.e. Kanban, JIT, min/max)

10. Manage inventory levels and accuracies (raw material/finished goods)

11. Measure performance against goals on a regular basis and present goals to plant personnel as needed

12. Establish and manage continuous improvement practices

13. Clearly establish service related communication channels

14. Create production management functions that support “Lean” concepts

15. Manage to key performance metrics and company established benchmarks

16. Be familiar with the development, use and implementation of planning and forecasting systems

17. Establish cross functional communication practices to support all departments and facilities

18. Partner with all corporate managers and support staff (HR, Customer Service, Warranty, Logistics, etc.)

19. Interviewing, hiring and completing performance appraisals direct reports

20. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as assigned

Specific Duties (included but not limited to the following):

1. Create and implement specific training and development plans for personnel.

2. Establish key performance metrics and benchmarks for all departments.

3. Host and participate in plant specific and companywide Kaizen events.

4. Plan and manage production forecast.

5. Work with the sales team to understand market expectations and translate to internal improvements.

6. Manage production scheduling process to ensure on time shipments and finished goods inventory reduction.

7. Manage the practices for raw material consumptions including on-hand quantities, order points and re-order quantities.

8. Manage all freight cost reduction initiatives.

9. Work with materials vendors for process improvements, cost savings initiatives and problem solving.

10. Manage all quality control or warranty related action items.

11. Create and implement internal standards based on company direction and customer needs.

12. Manage all aspects of safety and environmental programs and initiatives set by the company and governmental agencies.

13. Conduct career planning and development discussions with all direct reports.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

· Strong leadership skills

· Recognized needs and have the ability to request assistance.

· Excellent analytical skills/abilities.

· 5+ years of related experience, and specific knowledge required in planning and forecasting.

· Extensive knowledge of all Microsoft Office Applications.

· Excellent team building and project management skills.

· Familiar with AS400.

· Travel Required (20%).

· Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports using Microsoft Office.

· Ability to analyze and solve problems.

· Database management skills (excel, access)
