Job Summary
The Manufacturing Process Engineer will be responsible for developing, deploying, and optimizing processes for manufacturing to achieve quality cost and delivery goals for Celestica and its customer’s products and will be working closely with the Test, Failure Analysis, Quality, and the Safety team.
Job Responsibilities
Develop and maintain manufacturing methods
Create process routings and manufacturing instructions
Design/build/procure tooling and fixturing as it relates to products
Support equipment upgrades and conduct cost / benefit analysis for process changes
Deliver improvement for process safety, quality, and cycle times
Manage multiple projects simultaneously
Utilize lean manufacturing principles to improve process capability, reduce overall costs and increase capacity
Create manufacturing processes that are sustainable and repeatable while delivering a product that meets customer CTQ’s
Participate in early-stage process development to ensure the successful capture of Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Test, Installation & Service requirements
Propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles
Use technical experience and analytical thinking to acts as a resource and possibly lead small low-risk projects
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. Associates Degree OR High School Diploma plus 6 years of applicable work experience may be considered in lieu of a college degree
1+ years of experience as Manufacturing Engineer
Ability to read engineering drawings.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Experience with 3D modeling/CAD software
Experience in print reading, wire schematic reading, and engineering specifications
Experience with BOM (PLM) tools
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tool(s). (i.e., Oracle, SAP)
Strong data analysis skills. (i.e., Microsoft Excel tools, macros, etc.)
Strong troubleshooting skills and problem solving Desired Qualifications
Manufacturing process development experience in high-volume environment
Six Sigma Certification (Yellow/Green/Black)
Physical Demands
• Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment
• Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data
• Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, etc.) are frequently required
• Occasional travel may be required
