Job Description

The Sales Coordinator will report to the Director of Sales and will work closely with the hotel’s Sales & Marketing team. Responsible for assisting the team with a proactive sales effort in the social, military, educational, religious, fraternal and sports market segments, oversight of advertising, promotional initiatives and contributing to overall revenue generating efforts of the hotel to maximize hotel profitability and maintain customer satisfaction.

As a Sales Coordinator you will need to:

Be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

Have good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Have strong administrative skills, including business writing, basic mathematics, and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.

Must be proficient in Word and Excel

Sit for hours at a time.

Lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.

Be experienced in client relations or customer contact capacity.

Have excellent follow-up and organizational skills.

Be able to manage multiple tasks in a very fast-paced environment.

Together with the Director of Sales, achieve budgeted revenues and expenses and maximize profitability related to the sales department.

Have knowledge of both groups, SMERF, sports, FIT and leisure segments

Make outside sales calls and phone solicitation calls to obtain business

Book groups and meetings.

Handling various functions for Director of Sales

Be responsible for prompt handling of inquiry calls and monitoring the efficient flow of paperwork relative to confirming function details to the client.

Solicit new and repeat guest room and event business.

Maintain client base of key accounts and conventions.

Represent hotel in community affairs and industry related events.

Assisting with mailings and internet research for various campaigns.

Minimum Requirements:

To be a successful Sales Coordinator, a professional demeanor, a warm and welcoming personality, and the ability to engage easily and actively connect with others is required. Must be genuinely caring, compassionate, and comfortable conversing with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and at all organizational levels. Speak with others using clear and professional language. Previous hotel experience preferred. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
