Geotechnical Engineer - ESOP Development

Are you looking to use your Geotechnical specialisms to Head up a Geotechnical Department? This ambitious and employee owned firm is urgently hiring a 5+ years experienced Geotechnical Engineer to provide consultancy and mentorship on medium to large scale – unique projects.

From long standing aviation contracts, to specialist research, the role of this Geotechnical Engineer is to constantly monitor and uphold the rigid technical standards of the department.

Providing mentorship to more junior professionals when appropriate.

Typical Duties will include:

Supervising a team of engineers, assistant engineers and engineering assistants

Acting as project manager, assigning staff and tasks and monitoring budget and schedule

Attending client meetings and performing client-related project administrative tasks

Assigning laboratory tests and monitoring progress through the laboratory

Independently evaluating and developing foundation soil parameters

Independently evaluating, selecting, performing and checking standard engineering analyses

Producing field, laboratory parameters and engineering reports for further review by senior colleagues

Approving report deliverables

Assisting other professionals with technical training, proposals, invoices and marketing

Qualifications and Skills:

BSc In Civil Engineering or related Field

Professional Engineer (PE) License in the state of North Carolina. (Or Ability to obtain within 6 months)

Minimum 5+ Geotechnical Industry experience

Strong technical knowledge of geotechnical engineering and project management

Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software and relevant design codes

Proven leadership skill with ability to mentor, when appropriate
