Job Title: Engineering Manager

Department: Engineering

Reports To: Vice President of Engineering

SUMMARY:

The Engineering Manager coordinates and manages engineering staff while supervising daily engineering functions. The Engineering Manager will plan, direct, and prioritize the work required to design and deliver turnkey, retrofit and automation systems. Must apply knowledge of engineering principles to planning objectives, quality assurance, customer satisfaction and problem resolution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Oversee and coordinate engineering projects from concept to completion.

Manage a team of engineers through effective technical support, guidance and setting clear project objectives.

Develop and implement effective engineering strategies and processes.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor project progress, identify any issues, and provide solutions to ensure timely completion within budget.

Deliver system designs to the manufacturing team for project customization requirements.

Responsible for creating/reviewing/approving ECOs (Engineering Change Orders) as well as releasing BOMs, assembly drawings and manufacturing/retrofit process instructions.

Support engineers in the development of concise and accurate documentation.

Lead and participate in design reviews to ensure project requirements are met.

Advance and expand activities related to design, development, and production of engineering objectives.

Improve efficiency of engineering activities by researching and expanding knowledge of industry trends and advancements.

Ensure that product quality is maintained and cultivated.

Responsible for creating/updating detailed engineering prints and designs.

TRAVEL:

20% travel is anticipated. Routine travel to various domestic customer and distributor locations will be required. A valid driver’s license and passport are required for this position.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

degree in mechanical or electrical engineering

years of management experience

years of experience with detailed knowledge of manufacturing / service related business and/or customer support processes

3D CAD modeling ability and experience using Solidworks

using statistical analysis techniques, tools and methodology

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:

to adapt and succeed in a changing environment

with Microsoft Office Suite and SAP
