Responsibilities:
In this role the job duties include:
Design, build, implement, and maintain infrastructure.
Automate the lifecycle of a server including onboarding, patching, and sunsetting.
Use and administer automation tools such as, Ansible and Foreman
Write documentation and provide training for systems, tools, processes, and projects.
Configure and maintain common open-source tools and software such as Apache, NGINX, Postgres, MariaDB, IPA/IDM, KeyCloak, LDAP, IPTables, pfSense, Wireguard, IPSec, and OpenVPN
Ensure all authored code is well documented and version controlled appropriately via git.
Resolve escalated issues and perform root cause analysis for complex issues.
Interact with both internal and external customers during all project phases, from planning to maintenance.
Be mindful of customer needs and clearly communicate complex information.
Demonstrate a high attention to detail, examining every aspect of the system.
Exercise strong time management skills by taking on multiple projects simultaneously while debugging issues reported by customers.
Recommend system improvements and changes to systems, as needed.
Qualifications:
Required:
A minimum of 6 years of Systems Engineer or similar experience
A bachelor's degree - experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable
Advanced understanding of multiple distributions of Linux
Advanced knowledge, including 4+ years of experience, in three or more of the following areas:
Software-based phone systems such as Asterisk, Freeswitch, or similar technologies
Familiarity with common open-source tools, software, and basic Linux utilities such as Git, scripting (Python, Bash), Ansible, AWX, cloud-init, and Foreman
Networking protocols and concepts such as BGP, CIDR, DHCP, DNS, OSPF, Routing, Switching, High Availability and VLANs
Firewall management and concepts.
Virtualization technologies such as VMWare and related concepts.
Elastic stack management
Network Security and monitoring tools, like Zabbix, Prometheus, Security Onion.
Cloud hosting platforms such as AWS, Azure, Digital Ocean
Ability to obtain a US security clearance at a minimum of a secret level
Desired:
Active secret or top secret securtiy clearance
Advanced understanding of Docker
Help development teams onboard applications to Kubernetes infrastructure.
Build and maintain Kubernetes infrastructure.

Target Salary Range:
$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
