Automotive Technician

West Houston Volkswagen is enjoying 8 years of consecutive sales records. We are rapidly growing and are in IMMEDIATE need of experienced Automotive Service Technicians. Qualifications:

Must have tools necessary to perform wide range of maintenance/repairs.

High school diploma required, college or trade school preferred.

ASE Certifications or equivalent manufactures training preferred.

Worked in a dealership or independent repair facility for at least two years as a Technician.

Consistent work history

Must provide own tools

Pass a background check and drug screening

Valid drivers license

State vehicle inspector preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Execute work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.

Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair.

Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.

Save and tag parts as required by the manufacturer or customer.

Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required. Performing Multi Point Inspection's

Ability to prioritize repairs based on immediate needs, future needs, and no repairs necessary.

Document work performed. Road-test vehicles when required or refer to the test technician, keeping in mind that customers' vehicles should not be used for personal errands.

Attend factory-sponsored training classes. Keep abreast of VW or Subaru factory technical bulletins.

Ensure that customers' vehicles are kept clean. Keep shop area neat and clean and be able to account for all dealership-owned tools at all times.

Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.

Required education:

High school or equivalent

Skills:

Warning light diagnosis

Ability to diagnose and perform drive-ability repairs.

Engine and/or transmission replacement

Timing and cylinder head replacement

Ability to perform general diagnostics

Ability to perform scheduled maintenance in accordance with Volkswagen standards.

Pay: From $23 / Hour

Schedule:

Monday to Friday

Rotating weekends

Work Location: In person
