The Entertainment Community Fund (formerly The Actors Fund), a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment, seeks a Career Counselor Supervisor to manage the day-to-day activities of the Career Counseling program. This is currently a hybrid position with the expectation of working 2 days per week in our Times Square office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Career Center provides individual and group services to performing arts and entertainment professionals, helping clients develop and manage strategies to address the uncertain nature of employment in the industry. The Career Counselor Supervisor plays an important role in managing the day-to-day operations of the services offered by the Career Counseling program, in partnership with the national Career Center leadership team. This role, based in the NY office, provides supervision, training and support to a hybrid Career Counseling Team in New York and Chicago in order to ensure career counseling and training best practices, in addition to providing direct career counseling services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in Career Counseling, Social Work, Vocational Rehabilitation or related field

Seven years of experience in adult career counseling or mental health counseling

Three years of supervisory experience

Proven ability to communicate persuasively and effectively to a variety of audiences, including both internal and external stakeholders

Track record of initiative, accomplishment, and the ability to make and carry out decisions

PREFERRED QUALITIES

Knowledge of the performing arts and entertainment community

Understands the process by which individuals manage change, identify goals, prepare for, search for and retain employment

Experienced with current recruitment and retention strategies

Understands program development and implementation

Goal-oriented, motivated by the use of data and producing measurable outcomes

Comprehends the role of workforce development in economic development in the creative economy

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Local, regional and national travel required. Driver’s license preferred.

This is a full-time salaried position based in the Entertainment Community Fund’s National Headquarters Office in Times Square, New York City.
