Job Description

Job Profile:

As an Application Developer, you will play a crucial role as part of an existing team in designing, developing, and maintaining applications critical to national security. We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in application development, specifically with SharePoint and within classified information systems like the Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS).

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software applications on the Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS) platform.

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, identify needs, and translate them into technical specifications.

Develop scalable and efficient solutions to meet the NSC's operational requirements while ensuring compliance with security and privacy regulations.

Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support as needed.

Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and best practices in application development and security.

Document software designs, code, and processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintain system integrity.

Work closely with other members of the NSC team to integrate applications with existing systems and services.

Adhere to established development methodologies, quality standards, and project timelines.

Basic Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in applications development, with a focus on SharePoint.

Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++.

Experience working in JWICS or other classified systems.

Strong understanding of agile software development lifecycle methodologies and practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with web application development frameworks such as Spring Boot, Django, or Flask.

Familiarity with front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).

Knowledge of database management systems (SQL, NoSQL).

Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.

Previous experience working in government or national security environments.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Education:

BA or BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Location: Washington, DC (On-site at the National Security Council)

Clearance: Top Secret (TS) Clearance required
