ROLE PURPOSE/POSITION SUMMARY:

The Direct Mail and Mid-Level Specialist is responsible for delivering direct mail and mid-level fundraising initiatives to increase our supporter and revenue base on behalf of Greenpeace USA. This position is an exciting opportunity to develop subject matter expertise in the science of marketing, with a focus on donor segmentation and content optimization. The specialist will be responsible for key tasks related to donor acquisition and renewal efforts, retention upgrades, our quarterly Compass Magazine, acknowledgements and other cultivation, and emergency appeals.

The Direct Mail and Mid-Level Specialist reports to the Direct Mail and Mid-Level Manager and is a member of the Marketing Team. The team focuses on fundraising through a focus of key audiences, with the implementation channels of direct mail, digital ad, email, canvassing and telemarketing. This role will focus on the priority audience of mid-level donors ($500 - $9,999) and priority channel of direct mail.

The Direct Mail and Mid-Level Specialist is a full-time, hybrid, exempt, benefits-eligible position based in any of our GPUS-approved states (CA, NY Metro area and DC Metro area) and needs to be willing to work East Coast hours a minimum of 2 times per week. This role reports to the Direct Mail and Mid-Level Senior Manager and is represented by the Progressive Workers Union.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Process Coordination:

Coordinate caging processes, working with our direct mail agency as well as caging agency to ensure data is properly inputted, donors are properly acknowledged

Coordinate with other departmental channels to ensure mid-level donor’s user experience is coordinated

Route all copy and creative for approvals through Greenpeace stakeholders

Project Management:

Ensure campaign costs are tracked and reconciled, reporting out variances to approved campaign budget

Manage the building of all direct mail redirects and donation pages. Create source codes, activist codes and build the donation pages that correlate to the URLs that are printed on all of our monthly Inc and fund mail pieces.

Ensure we are meeting deadlines for direct mail production schedule and production plans provided by agency partners by being project lead on the scheduling for strategy and copy meetings as well as laying out timelines and managing the approval of copy from both programs and legal.

Review and approve mail plans, proofs, data scans, and laser setups for accuracy during all stages of the production process for direct mail and annual giving/planned giving

Proofread copy; work with external writers and designers to create and traffic copy and art for the marketing team

Work closely with Direct Mail and Mid-Level Senior Manager to design mid-level strategies across the department

Project manage and implement mid-level strategies outside of direct mail in collaboration with our Major Gifts, Planned Giving, Digital, and Monthly Giving programs

Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with Direct Mail and Mid-Level Senior Manager to design mid-level strategies across the department

Work with the internal Data Department to ensure the accuracy of data, and the smooth transfer of data to external vendors

Work with the Finance Department to ensure proper allocation of department funds and payment of invoices

Act as the liaison with the Supporter Care Team on escalated donor issues and other fundraising questions, bringing these issues to the Direct Mail and Mid-Level Manager when applicable

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge and Experience:

Minimum 3 years experience working with direct mail

Exposure to middle donor programs and digital fundraising a plus

Proficiency in Google Office Suite

Basic background in statistical analysis

Skills and Attributes:

The pay grade for this role is 2, and a salary within the anticipated range of $63,410 - $68,632 will be provided to the successful candidate having met the minimum requirements for the position consistent with reflecting our commitment to maintaining competitive and fair compensation practices.
