Job Description

This position will support both the School of Management and Leadership as well as the Department of Communication, Art and Theatre at Capital University. This collaborative position will provide administrative support for academic units and include duties such as financial and business operations management, procurement and vendor coordination, data and record management, financial and academic reporting requirements, training and oversight of student workers, communication with faculty, staff, and administration on campus and parents and the general public about Capital's programs. Other duties are ordering office supplies, planning special events, meetings, and arranging job candidate interviews.

Responsibilities:

Provides support for the departmental leadership and faculty.

Manages data and records in confidence, includes data entry, financial reporting and budget preparation.

Communication on campus with students, faculty, staff and public.

Serves as point of contact for adjunct faculty.

Arranges meetings, conferences, and interviews, along with coordinating travel arrangements.

Processes purchase orders, credit card reports, payment requisitions, expense reports, billing and payroll requests.

Makes departmental purchases and maintains an inventory of supplies.

Maintains departmental information, such as advising lists, class schedules, syllabus archives, meeting minutes, contact lists, contracts, budgets, and websites.

Qualifications:

Knowledge and skills at a level normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's Degree or equivalency.

Excellent facility in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Experience with, or ability to learn Ellucian Colleague and Website editing helpful.

Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.

Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills.

Organization, superior attention to detail, flexibility, creativity, excellent phone etiquette, and strong ability to multi-task.

Ability to work without supervision and demonstrate considerable initiative.

Ability to work closely and professionally with others as part of a team.
