A family located in the Scranton area is seeking a part-time seasoned, Support Service Professional to provide Enhanced Care Services for their adult son with Autism. This is an excellent part-time job opportunity for a professional with a degree in psychology, education, or an RBT, with DSP experience. The family is seeking an energetic and compassionate Support Staff to provide in-home and community habilitation services. The ideal candidate will be outgoing and have experience in working with Non-Verbal Individuals with Autism. Knowledge in following ABA Behavior Support Plans, Discrete Trail, and ACC communication devices is preferred. The candidate will assist the young man in promoting his independence, regulating his behaviors, meeting health and fitness goals, and improving his communication skills. Description of Duties:
Assist with ADLs as needed
Ensure health and safety needs are met at home and in the community
Provide transportation to community events, activities, and rides
Proficiency in ABA Behavior Support & Discrete Trial
Promote and encourage the use of verbal language
Communicate with guardian and surrogate on an ongoing basis
Complete and document goals as defined in ISP; documentation is completed through the EVV system from the Support Staffs cell phoneQualification / Requirements: *candidate must meet one of the following:
Bachelors Degree In Psychology, Education, Special Education, Counseling, Social Work, or Gerontology or Registered Behavior Technician, Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst, or NADD Certification in one of the following: NADD Competency Based Clinical Certification, Dual Diagnosis Certification
Must have a valid PA drivers license and reliable transportation
At least 2 years of DSP, SSP, Behavior Technician or Behavior Specialist experience
At least 2 years of experience in working with Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder
Willing to Participate in Background Check
Experience with Discrete Trial Instruction
Must be dependable, and punctualCurrent Scheduling Needs:
Part Time, Flexible Scheduling, 6-8 hrs. Per week, with potential for more.
Hourly rate based upon experience, staff will not be employed by Terrapin House, but by the individual's family
