Title: Senior Manager, Corporate Partnerships

Reports to: Director, Fund Development

Department: Fund Development

Full-time Exempt Remote

Salary Range: $66,000 - $ 82,500

Band: Level 4

NSBE, The National Society of Black Engineers, is seeking a Senior Manager to join its Corporate Partnerships team. This fast-paced role is the heartbeat of the organization and a key leadership role within World Headquarters (WHQ). This role will also join a cohort of leaders that will work alongside the Director, Fund Development to elevate the work of NSBE, advocate on behalf of the staff, and be an example of the WHQ core values. The Senior Manager, Corporate Partnerships, will work with our external partners to ensure the Business Corporate Partners and Affiliates are engaged year over year and strengthen the partnership over time. The role leads our industry corporate and government strategic partners and facilitates sponsorships for our signature National Convention.

It's an exciting time to join the NSBE team at WHQ as we guide the organization towards hosting its 50th National Convention and celebration. NSBE was founded in 1975 at Purdue University by the Chicago Six during the Black Power movement with the mission to “increase the number of Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community.” Today, NSBE is the largest student-run organization, with more than 700 chapters across the US and Internationally.

Position Summary:

As the Senior Manager, Corporate Partnerships, the primary responsibility is to spearhead the establishment and oversight of relationships with NSBE Corporate Partners. This position involves identifying and solicitating new corporate partnerships, and maintaining existing partners, with a focus on strengthening and cultivating these connections to achieve the overall corporate revenue goal. The Senior Manager holds a pivotal position in fostering collaboration and guaranteeing mutually advantageous partnerships between NSBE and corporate entities. This role oversees the Corporate Partnership team revenue portfolio exceeding $8 million requiring expertise of portfolio management, personnel supervision, and partnership management. This position is a people and process manager.

Responsibilities:

Ensure High Standard of Customer Service:

Deliver outstanding results and fulfill contractual obligations to all NSBE partners, prioritizing partner satisfaction.

Maintain strong relationships to ensure successful partnerships and ongoing collaboration.

Sales and Partnership Development:

Actively seek and engage potential corporate partners, presenting NSBE's value proposition and soliciting partnerships.

Nurture and sustain existing partnership portfolios to ensure ongoing collaboration and satisfaction.

Identify, initiate, and nurture strategic relationships with national organizations, corporations, and institutions to enhance NSBE's impact and reach.

Fundraising Management:

Manage all functions of national and regional fundraising, collaborating with board finance zone chairs to meet and exceed financial goals.

Provide annual projections and progress reporting on fiscal year goals for National Convention, Fall Regional Conferences, and Professional Development Conferences.

Contract Negotiation and Agreements:

Engage in contract negotiation and agreements with corporate partners to establish mutually beneficial terms and conditions.

Conduct audits of partnership onboarding documents including supplier forms, contracts, and agreements as needed for the annual convention.

Representation and Communication:

Work in conjunction with the Director of Fund Development; act as a representative of NSBE in external meetings, conferences, and industry events, actively promoting the organization's mission and exploring potential partnership opportunities.

Coordinate and facilitate regular Corporate Partners meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration between NSBE and its corporate partners.

Establish and maintain effective communication channels with partners, fostering productive and collaborative working relationships for the success of joint initiatives and shared objectives.

Operational Oversight and Leadership:

Develop, execute, and oversee standardized procedures and policies for corporate partnerships operations, including the use of platforms and CRM tools.

Oversee the corporate partnerships' unallocated fund account, ensuring accurate and timely allocation of funds.

Act as the escalation point and provide backup support to Account Managers in cases of leaves of absence, emergencies, or when additional assistance is needed.

Provide leadership, coaching, and support to members of the national partnership team through Performance Reviews, Performance Development Plans, coaching, mentoring, onboarding, and training.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in development, marketing, business, education, or another related field.

Previous experience in Sales and fund development, specifically managing partner relationships.

Previous experience working with corporate leaders and building partnerships.

Previous experience managing a partnership portfolio of between $7M – $10M.

Previous experience leading a team of portfolio managers.

Cross-departmental leadership and collaboration skills.

Strong computer skills including Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Access) and project management software.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to establish and maintain relationships (internal and external) is extremely important.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Self-motivated with a commitment to move the organization and mission forward.

Comfort and confidence working under the pressure of deadlines and multiple priorities simultaneously.

Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information.

Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and pursue partnership opportunities aligned with organizational goals.

Proficiency in project management tools and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).
