Medical Assistant - Dr. Martin Taylor

Full-time: Monday-Friday

Locations: New Albany and Pickerington

Position Summary:

The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting the physician in clinic and patient care, documentation of

encounters, communication with physicians and staff, general housekeeping of the exam rooms, and administrative

support tasks for the team.

Position Responsibilities/Standards:

*Botox for multiple issues including Migraines

● Attend department, clinic, or company meetings as required

● Demonstrate sound judgment by taking appropriate actions regarding questionable

findings or concerns

● Consistently work in a positive and cooperative manner with fellow staff members.

● Consistently demonstrate ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in

order to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary.

● Attend required annual in-service programs.

● Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of all company policies and procedures.

● Adheres to established facility safety requirements and procedures to ensure a safe

working environment. Identifies potentially unsafe situations and notifies the supervisor.

● Specific Duties

● EMR intake completed at time of service

● Escort patients to room

● Review H&P for new patients and/or new problems. Requires completion prior to

physician seeing the patient

● Medical assistance as needed (suture removal, draw injections, record prescriptions)

● Assist with physical therapy requests and off work requests

● Receive and reply to medical related messages and prescription requests from patients.

Record in patient record.

● Communication with physicians and staff

● Responsible for compliance of OSHA regulations - bio-hazardous disposal

● Facilitate medical records requests when necessary

● Assures exam rooms and clinic work areas are clean and tidy at all times for the next

scheduled clinic

● Assist the team with administrative tasks such as patient phone calls, surgery packets,

portal messages, faxes, pre-clinic prep, etc.

● Obtain the readings for MRI and X-Rays for the physician to review and diagnose

● Contact the ancillary services to align follow up care and promote the communication

between all parties

● Develop and streamline the message process, written or verbal, to the patient

● Travel to other locations as needed

● Any other duties as assigned by the Physician or Clinic Manager.

Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations

● Certified Medical Assistant certification preferred

Education and/or Experience

● High school degree or equivalent; or completion at technical training institution

● At least one year of related experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and

experience

Physical Requirements:

● Physical requirements for the position include the ability to frequently hear and communicate orally,

see up close and at a distance, read and comprehend, stand, sit, walk, reach, handle, and/or feel

objects.

● Must be able to climb, pull, push, squat and/or kneel.

● Ability to demonstrate exercises properly without limitations.

● Maximum unassisted lift = 50 lbs.

● Average lift 25-50 lbs.
