We are seeking a skilled and motivated Epic Interoperability Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Epic Systems' electronic health record (EHR) software and a deep understanding of healthcare interoperability standards and protocols. As an Epic Interoperability Analyst, you will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and supporting the integration of Epic's EHR system with external healthcare systems and applications, utilizing various Epic tools, including (but not limited too):

Epic Care Everywhere: Facilitate secure sharing of patient health records across different healthcare organizations using Epic's Care Everywhere module.

Epic Carequality: Enable exchange of health information between Epic EHR and other EHR systems participating in the Carequality framework.

Direct: Facilitate secure and direct messaging of patient health information between healthcare providers using encrypted email protocols.

Health Information Exchange (HIE): Support the exchange of clinical data between disparate healthcare organizations within a regional or statewide HIE network.

Epic Carelink: Provide patients and authorized third-party organizations with web-based access to their health records, enabling better care coordination and patient engagement.

Work Location: Remote - Occasional on-site presence required for collaboration sessions 4 - 6 times a year.

Interoperability Analyst Salary - $29.30/hr - $53.04/hr

The grade and salary of the position are based on specific criteria met within the qualifications of relevant experience, skills, performance and internal equity.

Description

Candidates with Epic Care Everywhere certification are highly preferred.

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and design efficient and scalable interoperability solutions.

Implement tools to ensure accurate and secure data exchange.

Conduct thorough testing and validation of interfaces to ensure data integrity, message accuracy, and system performance.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to interface connectivity, data transmission, and interoperability failures.

Document interface configurations, testing procedures, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.

Stay current with industry trends and advancements in healthcare interoperability standards and technologies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with major course work in computer science, Information Technology, engineering, or equivalent related experience.

A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in clinical, business, or other healthcare operational areas or 5 years no degree.

This position requires that the appropriate Epic certification be successfully obtained for a specific area of assigned responsibility within the first 90 days of completing training if not obtained prior to hire.

Working knowledge and subject matter expertise in the assigned operational department areas.

Knowledge and Abilities:

Intermediate oral and written communication skills with a diverse population Intermediate organizational, problem-solving, analytical, and time management skills.

Intermediate interpersonal skills to interact positively and productively with teams across organizational lines

Creative problem-solver with strong focus on achieving objectives within prescribed timelines while maintaining quality standards and organization requirements.

Flexibility to manage multiple initiatives and shift priorities based on business needs.

Typically works with senior staff, but may coordinate smaller or less complex projects independently.

Preferred Skills:

Minimum of 2 years of experience working with Epic Systems' EHR software, preferably in an interoperability-focused role.

Strong understanding of healthcare interoperability standards and protocols, such as HL7, FHIR, and CCD.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Epic certification in relevant modules (e.g., Care Everywhere) is highly desirable
