Salary: $40-45/hour DOE

Hotel California by the Sea (HCBTS) is a dual-diagnosis drug and alcohol treatment center located in Cincinnati, OH with other facilities located in Bellevue, WA, and Newport Beach, CA. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead Nurse serves as the lead nurse providing nursing care to the individuals served.

Lead Nurse performs specific job duties and tasks as assigned by the Nursing Staff Supervisor.

Provide nursing care, treatment, and services to HCBTS’s residential withdrawal management clients.

Responsible for completing and documenting the nursing care provided and the client’s condition/status, including but not limited to: initial nursing screening, nurse progress notes, client health questionnaire, suicide risk screening, nutritional risk screening, TB (PPD) screening, and other professional documentation.

Observe, screen, and document Client progress and updates to the Client’s status

Observe, screen/assess, and document Client vital signs and withdrawal management screenings (CIWA / COWS) as appropriate and within your scope of practice.

Document, monitor, secure, and account for all client medications in the healthcare office in accordance with HCBTS policies and procedures. Document and directly observe each client’s self-administration of medications. Monitor client’s reactions to medications and respond to real or potential adverse drug events/reactions

Complete, monitor, and document client observation rounds in the environment of care.

Perform nursing tasks in accordance with the Physician/MD’s instructions and protocols.

Provide education and instructions to the Client as applicable and appropriate under the circumstances.

Perform your work in a manner that supports, contributes, and promotes a treatment environment that is safe, healthful, caring, comfortable, supportive, culturally competent, and therapeutic.

Plans, prioritizes, manages, and completes work duties and responsibilities in a timely, professional, and effective manner.

Complete compliance reports and provide support and assistance in the development and improvement of healthcare policies and procedures.

Participate in the continuous quality management and performance improvement process. Responsible for performing tasks and assignments in support of this process when requested and as appropriate.

Provide support and assistance for coordination of care and continuing care purposes. Work collaboratively with the clinical team to promote, facilitate, and achieve desired treatment outcomes for clients.

Communicate appropriately, professionally, and clearly with your manager/supervisor, co-workers, physicians, psychiatrists, therapists, and SUD counselors / case managers.

REQUIRED LICENSURE / CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Ohio (active, current, and in good standing) Or Registered Nurse License (RN) in the State of Ohio (active, current, and in good standing).

Current CPR / First Aid Certification / Training. Current PPD and Health Screening.

DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Prior Work Experience: Providing licensed nursing care to individuals with substance use disorders, mental health disorders, and/or co-occurring disorders or conditions.

Demonstrated knowledge and ability to care for clients with substance use disorders, mental health disorders, and physical health problems or conditions within your scope of practice.

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Responsible, reliable, respectful, and team-focused mindset. Excellent work ethic and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in a self-directed manner and complete tasks in a timely and professional manner. Willingness and ability to work well with others as a member of the HCBTS healthcare team.

Very good de-escalation skills and crisis prevention/intervention skills. Good conflict-resolution skills.

Demonstrated ability to conduct oneself in a calm, caring, and professional manner when communicating and providing care, treatment, and services to persons who may be emotional/crying, distressed, tense, experiencing withdrawal and other symptoms of behavioral health and medical conditions.

Demonstrated ability to be flexible, organized, and function under stressful situations.

Working knowledge and experience in complying with HIPAA and maintaining the privacy and security of confidential client information and protected health information.

Ability to address behavioral health issues, identify critical situations, and recognize when additional assistance is necessary.

Competency in the knowledge and delivery of client care in an environment that optimizes client safety and reduces the likelihood of treatment errors and medication errors.

Basic computer skills. Good typing skills. EMR experience and good healthcare documentation skills.

Good time management and organizational skills.
