Job Summary:

The Golf and Tennis Merchandise Manager will manage all Golf and Racquet Club retail outlets, warmly greet all members and guests, offer direction to members and guests, and will be knowledgeable of the product assortment in each store. The Merchandise Manager will actively maintain the image of the store by refolding apparel and organizing as needed inside the store. The Merchandise Manager will order product for all stores, process transactions, as well as handle all accounts payable. The Golf and Tennis Merchandise Manager is an ambassador of Palmetto Bluff and will be expected to be knowledgeable about all amenities and experiences available on property as well as aware of what is taking place on property each day.

Job duties include, although are not limited to:

Greet all guests warmly upon arrival (when working in the retail store(s))

Provide assistance to guests in the retail store(s), both by telephone and face to face

Actively sell merchandise to achieve daily, monthly, and yearly sales goals

Select and order product for all stores in conjunction with the Director of Golf Club Operations and Director of Racquet Sports

Attend PGA and other trade shows as necessary to keep product selections on trend

Maintain Open to Buy Plan (update as needed based on business levels)

Receive and stock merchandise as needed

Maintain retail displays, replenishing and rearranging stock as necessary

Accurately process payments per established standards

Create and assemble gift boxes ordered by groups

Execute the shipping of guest purchases as requested and maintain packing supplies

Participate in quarterly physical inventory for all retail stores

Conduct monthly spot checks on selected categories making necessary adjustments and analyzing variances

Input/receive inventory data into inventory management software

Assist golf/tennis staff with special order requests as needed

Responsible for Cost of Goods Sold in each store along with the Director of Golf Club Operations and Director of Racquet Sports

Handle all returns and refunds per standards

Promote positive relations with guests and staff members

Attend all meetings and training sessions as scheduled

Qualifications:

High School graduate

Experience in a private club and/or luxury resort retail environment

Experience in the hospitality industry helpful

Excellent written/verbal communication, and organizational skills

Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with co-workers, support departments, guests, members, and vendors

Professional and personable demeanor

Physical Demands:

Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature generally is moderate and controlled by Resort environmental systems.

Must be able to lift 20lbs.

Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach different outlets and other departments of the Resort on a timely basis.

Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.

Talking and listening occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.

Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.

Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.

Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, multi-line touch tone phone, filing cabinets, photocopiers, dolly and other office equipment as needed.
