Job Summary – Full Time – part time considerations

We are accepting resumes for the position of Financial Officer. This position provides direct, and practical hands-on support with room to grow, and is responsible for the accounting functions that include, but not limited to, the following:

Accounting support for multiple companies across a portfolio of construction, property management and hotel management, including payroll for up to 30 employees, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inter-company transactions, progress billing and invoicing,

Preparation of reports at frequency as requested by management including aging accounts payable, accounts receivable, job cost, financial forecasting and variance reporting

Preparation of year-end accounting reports required for external accountants

Monthly reconciliation of all accounts; preparation of monthly financial statements and reports

Prepare and review records and supporting documentation for GST remittance

Property management: collection of rents as per respective lease agreements

Collaborate with management team and Financial Administrator to streamline financial processes, develop and implement financial policies and procedures

Skill, Education & Experience

Post secondary education in accounting or finance, CPA designation an asset

Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in a financial accounting role, possessing extensive knowledge of preparing and presenting financial statements, management reports, budgets, forecasts, and performing variance analysis.

Extensive experience managing daily accounting functions including, but not limited to, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, job costing, and revenue recognitions

Extensive experience with Quickbooks accounting software

Experience with accounting for real estate purchases and sales

Experience with property leasing accounting

Strong written and verbal communication skills, collaborative, works with integrity

Ability to consistently work with attention to detail and problem solve

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with co-workers and management

Must be able to work in an office environment as this is not a remote position
